This year is the “YEAR OF WELLNESS” and February is Heart Health Month. In honor of this month’s topic we will be having a educational seminar on Heart Health that is open to the public on February 7th at 10:30 in the North Day room. We would love for anyone who is interested in learning about Heart Health and joining the battle against heart health disease to please feel free to attend this seminar.
This month in activities we will be celebrating and exploring the cultural roots and amazing achievements of Black History. We will celebrate ways in which we can all come together and share in the “Dream” of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King as one community. We are encouraging the children of our residents and staff to submit drawings, posters, art works and poetry depicting their positive insight. We will celebrate and explore Maya Angelou in a day of inspiration with reading and art presentations. On February 4th we will be enjoying our monthly birthday party with a focus on some amazing contributors to our world who also have birthdays in February such as Rosa Parks, Hank Aaron and many others. On February 11th we will celebrate “Women and Girls in Science Day” with some exploration in science as well as watching the movie “Hidden Figures.”
VALENTINES DAY IS FEBRUARY 14! Please join us for our Chef Select Lunch at 12:30. Shortly after lunch we will gather for the sweet, tantalizing treasure of Steve Sternberg as he tickles the ivories.
